Friendship Fountain

One of the largest self-contained fountains built, pumping 3,500 - 6,500 gallons of water per minute to a height of 100 feet, with 265 lights molding the water into a sparkling mist. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the view of the river.

"The Jacksonville Children's Commission Toy Lending Center was created to help parents and child care providers enrich children's lives with a variety of play experiences and developmentally appropriate activities." Kids Kampus at Metropolitan Park

A ten-acre recreational facility with bright, colorful, climbing, digging and sliding equipment with an educational twist. Also, have fun in the Splash Park (water features offered May-Sept.). Developed with local educators, Kids Kampus allows children to indulge their natural curiosity while enjoying its engaging playscapes and mini Jacksonville landmarks. Also features a picnic pavilion and jogging trail. Spring/Summer Hours: Mon-Sat, 8am-8pm; Sun, 10am-8pm. Fall/Winter Hours: Mon-Sat, 8am-6pm; Sun, 10am-6pm. Klutho Park

"Most of the park and adjacent Boulevard were created along Hogans Creek between 1899 and 1901, on land donated by a developer, the Springfield Company. The City’s first zoo opened at the park in 1914, followed by the first municipal swimming pool in 1922. Founded in 1904, the Springfield Improvement Association & Woman’s Club has steadfastly worked for the beautification of the park."

Northbank and Southbank Riverwalks

A great place to stroll and take in fantastic views of the St. Johns River. On the Northbank (Downtown side), enjoy shopping and dining at The Landing (2 Independent Drive). While on the Southbank (San Marco side), have a picnic in the shady grass beside Friendship Fountain (835 Museum Circle), eat at one of the restaurants, visit the Jacksonville Maritime Museum, or walk over to the Museum of Science and History. While on either side, catch a ride on S.S. Marine Taxi, which makes runs between the Northbank and Southbank and to Metropolitan Park (by request). Ritz Theatre & LaVilla Museum

Showcasing art, music, drama, poetry and African-American history. LaVilla Museum houses an exhibit of the history of African-Americans in Northeast Florida. S.S. Marine Taxi

Offers water taxi service between the Northbank and Southbank as well as a 2-hour day cruise on the St. Johns River where you can catch site of dolphins and manatees. Taxi service runs 11am - 9pm Sun-Thr and 11am-11pm on Fri and Sat, except in inclement weather. One-way fare is $3 for adults, $2 for children ages 4-12, and free for children three and under. Day cruises run on Wed and Sun and must be reserved in advance. The cost for day cruises is $15 for adults, $12 for children. Taxi lands at the Northbank, Southbank, and Metropolitan Park (by request).
